IMEA 610 Wood Pole Climbing Workshop (Class #092126)
The IMEA 610 Wood Pole Climbing Workshop provides training for utility personnel to develop the
knowledge and practical skills necessary for employer designation as a qualified wood pole climber, in
accordance with applicable OSHA regulations and industry-accepted utility safety practices.
Instruction includes classroom and hands-on field training covering wood pole characteristics and
inspection, inspection and use of climbing equipment, safe wood pole climbing techniques, basic rope
knots and splicing, handline use, crossarm installation, basic tool handling, and pole-top rescue
procedures.
Participants must successfully complete practical skills demonstrations and a written examination to
meet course completion requirements.

Campus Lodging & Fees
St. Joseph’s College has apartment style housing available for IMEA apprentices. Each apartment has 5 private bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, common living area & kitchen and a patio or balcony. We will not put more than 4 apprentices per apartment and will make every attempt to keep it at 3. If you would like to take advantage of on-campus lodging, please bring your normal toiletries, wash cloths and towels.
Campus lodging fee is $300.00 (no taxes) per person / per week
